Adam Levine calls out ‘The Voice’ fans who didn’t vote for Tyke James: It ‘just doesn’t match up’ [WATCH]

Despite being one of iTunes’ most downloaded artists from “The Voice” Top 13, Hawaiian singer Tyke James was eliminated during Tuesday night’s results show. And Tyke’s coach Adam Levine was not happy about it. “I’m gonna say something really specific, dude, because I’m confused as to why you’re here,” Adam said after it was revealed Tyke was in the Bottom 3 along with SandyRedd and Lynnea Moorer. “Tyke was one of the top performers on iTunes of everybody who performed last night on ‘The Voice.’ To be Top 3 with music and to be Bottom 3 on the show just doesn’t match up.”

In other words, Adam was calling out “The Voice” fans by saying it’s not enough to simply buy their favorite artists’ recordings, but they also have to vote in order for them to advance to the next round. “I beg and urge you guys to let this guy go through because we have so much more to do,” Adam declared as America was in the midst of tweeting for the live Instant Save. “We’re just getting started. So let’s not make that mistake, man. I feel like he should be here.”

Tyke’s performance on Monday’s live episode was “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You,” which he dedicated to his mother. Tyke decided to switch up the song by playing the ukulele, which Kelly Clarkson noted “was such a great idea.” Adam concluded that he was “so proud” of Tyke, telling him, “This version of the song has never been attempted. It’s such a huge, over-the-top song and you took it and stripped it down.”

Once it was announced that Tyke, SandyRedd and Lynnea were this week’s Bottom 3 artists, Tyke decided to sing “Home” as his Instant Save song (watch above). Unfortunately, with such lyrics as “I want to go home” and “Let me go home,” viewers may have felt that Tyke was giving them a subliminal message that he didn’t want to compete on the reality TV show anymore. Even host Carson Daly told Tyke that he made an interesting song choice.

In the end, America decided to save Lynnea, so the two artists sent home were Tyke James of Team Adam Levine and SandyRedd of Team Jennifer Hudson. Are you bummed that Tyke failed to make it into the Top 11? Give us your thoughts down in the comments section.
