Alec Baldwin (‘Saturday Night Live’) Emmy episode revealed for Best Comedy Supporting Actor (Exclusive)

Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Alec Baldwin is entering the “Saturday Night Live” episode hosted by Donald Glover as his Emmy submission for Best Comedy Supporting Actor. This installment aired May 5 and was the 19th episode of the 43rd season for the NBC show.

In this show, Donald Trump (Baldwin) gets a frantic call from attorney Michael Cohen (Ben Stiller) in the cold open. A series of phone calls then involves guests Scarlett Johansson, Jimmy Fallon, Martin Short, the real Stormy Daniels and Emmy winner Kate Mckinnon.

Baldwin is the defending champion in this category and has two prior wins for “30 Rock” in 2008 and 2009. This year’s nomination brings his career total to 19. For the 2018 ceremony, he is up against “SNL” co-star Kenan Thompson, past winners Louie Anderson (“Baskets”) and Tony Shalhoub (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”), and former nominees Tituss Burgess (“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”), Brian Tyree Henry (“Atlanta”) and Henry Winkler (“Barry”).
