Alexis Ren had a fairy tale foxtrot and maybe a showmance with Alan Bersten on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Disney Night [WATCH]

The producers and judges on “Dancing with the Stars” were shipping Alexis Ren and her pro partner Alan Bersten hard on Disney Night. During their clip package Ren was asked point-blank if she was starting to have feelings for her dreamy partner, to which she answered, “No comment.” Even the judges were quick to point out their “lovely chemistry” and how their dance was like “two hearts beating as one.”

Laying it on a little thick, “DWTS”? I don’t mind. Whether it’s true or not, I’m glad if the showmance rumors help her build a fan base. She’s one of the best, highest-scoring contestants on the show this season, but in week one she landed in the bottom five after the judges’ scores were combined with viewer votes, so it’s uncertain whether the audience supports her as much as the judges do, but maybe young love will give her a boost.

Ren was in a tough spot on Disney Night as the very first performer. She danced a foxtrot to “Just Around the Riverbend” from “Pocahontas,” but the judges thought it was so good that they didn’t hold back. Len Goodman felt it was “beautifully danced.” Bruno Tonioli called it “gorgeous.” And Carrie Ann Inaba proclaimed it her “best dance of the season so far.” The routine received a 9 from Goodman and 10s from Inaba and Tonioli, giving her a total of 29 out of 30.

Those were her highest marks of the season so far, and she tied with Juan Pablo Di Pace for the top of the leaderboard. Unfortunately, Ren’s fairy tale almost ended when she and DeMarcus Ware were called in jeopardy at the end of the show. But thankfully “DWTS” believes in happy endings: no one was eliminated, and with those high scores for her foxtrot, perhaps she’ll stick around a while longer to get to know Bersten better.
