Now we doubt so many of you are cynical about love, but it is hard to believe in a relationship that feels utterly contrived and downright cringe-worthy, from the staged proclamations of “feelings” to an on-camera kiss. If I fell for someone on a non-dating TV show and were serious about it, I would not agree to film our kiss for millions of people to see. Just saying. How many takes do you think they had to do? “A little less tongue this time, guys. This is a family show.” “Alan, hold her head two degrees to the left. No, our left.”
Meanwhile, 13 percent picture the pair dating for up to six months and 9 percent see them lasting from six months to a year. They likely will give it a go after the season ends because they probably are attracted to each other, and you do want to see how real this could be without the show dictating your lives. Some “Dancing” couples that dated after the show: Shannon Elizabeth and Derek Hough, Sabrina Bryan and Mark Ballas, and Mario Lopez and Karina Smirnoff, who split after Lopez admitted to cheating.
But maybe Renten will defy the odds completely; 15 percent of you believe they will last forever. So far the only celeb-pro couple that’s come even close to that is Robert Herjevac and Kym Johnson, who are married with newborn twins. Don’t quite picture that yet for Ren, 21, and Bersten, 24.
