AMAs performers 2018: Carrie Underwood, Imagine Dragons and more will take the stage at American Music Awards

The American Music Awards have announced the first round of performers who will take the stage at the 2018 awards ceremony taking place on October 9: Carrie UnderwoodImagine Dragons and Post Malone featuring Ty Dolla $ign. Who are you looking forward to seeing the most?

Underwood is a 12-time AMA winner, including Artist of the Year in 2007 and five victories for Favorite Country Female Artist. But this will be her first time performing on the telecast since 2015. This year she’s nominated again for Country Female Artist, and if she prevails for a sixth time she’ll tie Taylor Swift for the most wins in the category. Her latest album, “Cry Pretty,” was just released on September 14.

Imagine Dragons will be performing their song “Natural,” which is the anthem for 2018’s “ESPN College Football.” To date the rock band has won three AMAs: Favorite Alternative Rock Artist (2013-2014) and Favorite Pop/Rock Duo or Group (2017). This year they have three more nominations, including their second bid for Artist of the Year, which they’re hoping to win for the first time.

Post Malone is performing at the AMAs for the very first time, but he could take the stage several more times throughout the night since he’s nominated for seven awards, including his first ever bid for Artist of the Year. He and Ty Dolla $ign will be performing their hit collaboration “Psycho,” which reached number-one on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart earlier this year. Post Malone’s album “Beerbongs and Bentleys,” which topped the Billboard 200, is up for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album.
