Amazon celebrates 14 ‘Marvelous’ Emmy nominations with ‘Mrs. Maisel’ look-a-likes coloring Los Angeles pink

Los Angeles is about to be tickled pink thanks to “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.” To celebrate the streaming show’s jaw-dropping 14 Emmy nominations, including Best Comedy Series and Best Comedy Actress for Rachel Brosnahan as the titular housewife-turned-comedian, Amazon is enlisting Midge Maisel look-a-likes to color the city pink across the three Mondays of Emmy voting (Aug. 13, 20 and 27). Specific locations will be announced via the show’s social media channels including Twitter.

The 1950s doppelgangers will take selfies with fans while dressed in Midge Maisel’s iconic pink costume. They’ll also hand out special prizes like pink flowers, pink balloons and branded mirrors printed with the slogan “You Look Marvelous.” As if that’s not enough, attendees can fill their bellies thanks to pop-up pink lemonade stands, vintage pink carts serving ice cream, and pink-and-white cookies.

In addition, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” just staged a one-of-a-kind event at Hollywood Forever Cemetery on Thursday, Aug. 9. Fans dressed up in their best 1950s garb and snapped photos in Midge Maisel’s world as they watched two episodes of the series under the stars. Complimentary food from Canters, Pink’s Hot Dogs and Joe’s Pizza brought the streets of New York to Los Angeles for this special event.

The show’s 14 Emmy nominations are for Best Comedy Series, Best Actress for Brosnahan, Best Supporting Actor for Tony Shalhoub, Best Supporting Actress for Alex Borstein, Best Guest Actress for Jane Lynch, Best Directing for Amy Sherman-Palladino, Best Writing for Sherman-Palladino, Best Casting, Best Cinematography, Best Costumes, Best Hairstyling, Best Music Supervision, Best Picture Editing and Best Production Design.
