‘American Idol’ finalist Caleb Lee Hutchinson winner’s single ‘Johnny Cash Heart’ [LISTEN]

Caleb Lee Hutchinson may not win “American Idol” on Monday but he already has a hit with the single he recorded for the finale. “Johnny Cash Heart” was released on Friday and is already in the top 10 on the iTunes country music chart. The song was penned by a trio of Nashville talents: James Slater, Jay DeMarcus and Kat Higgins. Hutchinson was surprised by the success of the single and took to Twitter to express his gratitude. “Thank you so much guys, y’all have no clue how much this means to me. I love y’all so much.”

Take a listen to his new song and then vote in our poll as to whether or not you think Hutchinson will win season 16 of “American Idol” and have this re-released as the official single of the show. Besides this new tune, this talented 17-year-old also performed two others on the May 20 show.

In tribute to his hometown of Dallas, Georgia, he sang the Johnny Cash hit “Folsom Prison Blues.” And he did a reprise of one of his favorite songs from earlier in the season: “Don’t Close Your Eyes” by Keith Whitley.
