‘American Idol’ finalist Maddie Poppe winner’s single ‘Going Going Gone’ [LISTEN]

Maddie Poppe defied the odds and made it to Sunday’s “American Idol” final, where she contended against Gabby Barrett and Caleb Lee Hutchinson. She won’t know until Monday night if she has done enough to pull off one of the biggest upsets in the history of the franchise. However, she is already a winner when it comes to sales of the single she recorded for the finale. “Going Going Gone” was released on Friday and is already climbing the iTunes music chart. The tune was written by a trio of talented songsmiths:  Mitch Allan, Lindy Robbins and Julia Michaels.

Take a listen to this new song and then vote in our poll as to whether or not you think Poppe will win season 16 of “American Idol” and have this re-released as the official single of the show. Besides this new song, this talented 20-year-old also performed two others on the May 20 show.

In tribute to her hometown of Clarksville, Iowa she sang the Fleetwood Mac standard “Landslide.” And she did a reprise of one of her own songs that she introduced earlier in the season: “Don’t Ever Let Your Children Grow Up.”
