‘American Idol’: Which of the Group 1 Top 24 singers was robbed of a place in the Top 14 of season 16?

On the April 9 episode of “American Idol,” Ryan Seacrest revealed that only seven of the dozen singers were moving on to the live shows. This meant that five contestants in Group 1 of the Top 24 saw their dreams of winning season 16 end. Which of these artists do you think was wrongly eliminated and was most deserving of a place in the Top 14? Vote in our poll below and then sound off in the comments section.

In episodes taped weeks ago, the remaining two dozen artists from the Top 50 had been split into two groups. Each of those Top 24 contestants had to perform both solo and in duets with celebrities in front of judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. That trio of talent then determined if each contestant deserved a place in the Top 14.

The five singers in contention in Group 1 to be eliminated were: Kay Kay Alexis, Brandon DiazTrevor McBane, Dominique Posey and Layla Spring.

The seven to make the cut were: Gabby BarrettJonny Brenns, Cade Foehner, Dennis Lorenzo, Michelle Sussett, Catie Turner and Michael J. Woodard. (Be sure to vote for your favorite of these Top 14 artists.)
