‘America’s Got Talent’: All-male Junior New System dance in high heels and get judges jumping

The dance group Junior New System had the four judges jumping on the first episode of “America’s Got Talent” on Tuesday. This talented troupe traveled from the Philippines to perform for Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Mel B and Heidi Klum on the season 13 premiere of “AGT.” The panel was moved by their story of being street children in Manila and then wowed by their moves, which combined hip-hop and gymnastics with much of it done in six-inch high heels. After their rollicking routine, which earned a standing ovation from the crowd and the panel, Mel B enthused, “What just happened?” Mandel was equally awe-struck by Junior New System, calling the routine “amazing.” He declared that they were the reason that “AGT” existed: to make dream like theirs, of a better life for their families back home, come true. Klum confessed, “you guys really woke me up.” And Cowell enthusiastically endorsed the yes votes of his colleagues, noting how good the routine got in the second half.
