“America’s Got Talent” aired the second results show of season 13 on Wednesday (August 22). Only seven of the dozen acts that performed on Tuesday’s quarterfinal got enough votes from the public or judges to move on to the semifinals in two weeks time. Do you think that any of these lucky seven is good enough to win the $1 million grand prize?
They are three solo singers (Glennis Grace, Noah Guthrie, Makayla Phillips), comedian Samuel J. Comroe, dancers Da Republik, aerialists Duo Transcend, and children’s choir Voices of Hope. Read our recaps of their performances on the second live show and then cast your vote in our poll for the act that you think has the best chance of winning season 13 of “AGT.”
Samuel J. Comroe: This stand-up had focused on jokes about his Tourette’s in his audition but shifted to making merry about the dog that he and his wife just adopted for his quarterfinal appearance.
Da Republik: The dance crew from the Dominican Republic invaded the stage with an alien apocalypse themed hip hop routine.
Duo Transcend: These married trapeze artists redeemed themselves by perfecting the trick that they had flubbed in their audition when a blindfolded Tyce caught Mary.
Glennis Grace: At her audition, Simon Cowell had declared that she was “already a star.” Also taking on a song from “The Greatest Showman,” she wowed with the power ballad “Never Enough.”
Noah Guthrie : The one-time cast member of “Glee” scored with his original track “Show Me Some Mercy.”
Makayla Phillips: This 15-year-old singer earned Heidi Klum‘s golden buzzer and proved she was worthy of the honor with her stirring rendition of “Issues” by Julia Michaels.
Voices of Hope: This children’s choir was the Golden Buzzer act of guest judge Ken Jeong. They delivered a soulful rendition of “A Million Dreams,” the powerful anthem from the film “The Greatest Showman.”
