‘America’s Got Talent’ magician Rob Lake denies he has a twin brother as Simon Cowell calls him ‘corny’ [WATCH]

For weeks “America’s Got Talent” fans have suspected that Rob Lake is able to pull off all of his magic acts because he has a twin brother, but during Tuesday’s Quarterfinals 3 episode he denied those rumors. “I don’t,” the magician told host Tyra Banks and judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Mel B and Howie Mandel. “I have one sister. She’s here tonight and she hates magic.” Watch Rob’s “Americas Got Talent” performance video above in which he disappears from a motorcycle and then reappears in the audience. Then be sure to read the judges’ comments below and make your predictions for which seven acts will advance to the Semifinals.

Simon: “I feel I’ve kind of helped you come to this place. I think you put on a great show on a live show. It was a bit corny at times but maybe that’s who you are. But I have no idea how you flew from there to there. I’m being nice. No, but I mean it in kind of a complimentary way.”

Heidi: “I loved it. I mean, I don’t understand it. You were there, then you were there. It was almost like there’s two of you. It’s almost like you have a twin or something like that. It’s crazy. It was so fast. I love this because there’s so many things going on at the same time. Because otherwise I get bored.”

Howie: “I love the magic, I love the show, I thought you rose to the occasion. The cheesiness was a bit much for me. It’s the, ‘Tada!’ That looked very 80s to me.”

Mel: “I didn’t think you were cheesy enough. I like it when you’re cheesy. I really, really do. But my favorite part was the ending. And are you sure you haven’t got a twin? That is proper magic.”

In his “AGT” live blog our recapper John Benutty had this to say about the performance: “After his first two auditions, Simon was not sold on the value of Rob Lake‘s magic act, mostly due to a lack of personality in the performance. With that in mind, Rob used high energy music and dramatic looking stage movements to inject life into the act. Unfortunately that all just came off incredibly cheesy and the magic itself was pretty low stakes and unimpressive. The culmination of the act was Rob on a motorcycle in a cage being raised on stage and then disappearing and reappearing mid-audience moments later. This time Simon did find the act a bit corny, but at least said that it was an improvement for him.”
