Vivien Vajda jumps for joy after ‘America’s Got Talent’ judges give her four yeses

Vivien Vajda dazzled the judges with her innovative jump rope routine on the June 26 episode of “America’s Got Talent.” This Hungarian native journeyed across the Atlantic to share her passion for jumping rope. Despite being told by her coach that she could not cut it, Vajda was determined to prove him and the rest of her teammates wrong. And she sure did, with a routine that combined artistry and athleticism. Judge for yourself by watching her “AGT” audition above.

Vajda kept the jump rope moving as she did a series of gymnastic moves, including somersaults and tumbling. Every time she she seemed to have pushed herself to the limits, she came up with another trick that had the audience cheering.

And the judges soon joined in. Mel B leapt to her feet and declared, “That was brilliant! Those tricks you were doing were so complicated.” Heidi Klum concurred, asking Vadja to add fire to the routine in the next round. Howie Mandel was equally enthusiastic while head judge Simon Cowell admitted he loved the variety of this show versus the singing competitions that he usually judges.

In his “AGT” live blog, our recapper John Benutty observed, “After skeptical looks from the judges once they heard her act was jump roping, Vivien energized the crowd with her tricks–flipping, splits, turns, hops that all involved a constantly churning rope around her body. The most inspiring part about her act though is Vivien’s passion for jump rope, something that wasn’t necessary to get a full set of YESES from the judges, but definitely helped boost her profile as she heads into the next round.”
