‘America’s Got Talent’ sneak peek: 12-year-old sings Spanish-language classic ‘El Triste’ in ‘AGT’ audition [WATCH]

Could Angel Garcia be the biggest threat to Courtney Hadwin winning “America’s Got Talent” this summer? The 12-year-old boy certainly wows the judges with his rendition of the Spanish-language hit song “El Triste” on the July 10 episode of “AGT.” Watch him win them over in the video above.

“El Triste” was introduced by the Mexican singer Jose Jose at the Latin Song Festival competition in 1970. While he only placed third there, the song about a lost love became his second number in his home country and launched his international career at the age of just 22. Could it do the same for Garcia?

As he explain to the “AGT” judges before he sang, his father has inspired his love of music. That he took on this classic tune, which is known as “The Sad One” in English, is a testament to his talent. Do you think that the fearsome foursome who sit on the panel — head judge Simon Cowell, Mel B, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel — will put him through to the next round? As this teaser video does not include their comments, we will have to wait till Tuesday to find out.

The format is the same this year as last, with “America’s Got Talent” airing initially just on Tuesdays. The July 10 episode is the last of six devoted to the auditions that took place around the country. Then there will be four weeks of Judge Cuts beginning in July, followed by the series of live performance shows and results episodes.
