Anthony Anderson (‘Black-ish’) Emmy episode revealed for Best Comedy Actor (Exclusive)

Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Anthony Anderson is entering the “Black-ish” episode “Advance to Go (Collect $200)” as his Emmy submission for Best Comedy Actor. This installment aired October 24 and was the fourth episode of the fourth season for the ABC show.

In this segment, Dre (Anderson) gathers his family together to play Monopoly because “how you play reveals who you are.” It turns out that he himself becomes a jerk by booting his own wife (Tracee Ellis Ross) off his team. While on a hot streak for a while, a few bad rolls of the dice later leave him with bridges burned.

Anderson has two nominations this year for both acting and producing, bringing his career total to seven. For the 2018 ceremony, he faces off with last year’s winner Donald Glover (“Atlanta”), plus previous winners Ted Danson (“The Good Place”), Larry David (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”), Bill Hader (“Barry”) and William H. Macy (“Shameless”).
