The Grinch was no match for Ariana Greenblatt’s freestyle in the ‘Dancing with the Stars: Juniors’ finale [WATCH]

“You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” but you’re a darn good dancer, Ms. Greenblatt. “Avengers: Infinity War” actress Ariana Greenblatt and her fellow “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” finalists performed Christmas-themed routines for their freestyle dances during the season finale. Greenblatt portrayed Cindy Lou Who while her pro partner Artyon Celestine was the title character in their Dr. Seuss inspired number. Watch it above.

Greenblatt was hoping a former “DWTS” contestant would be her good luck charm: this version of “Mr. Grinch” was performed by violinist Lindsey Stirling featuring Sabrina Carpenter. Stirling was the runner-up in season 25 of the grownup series, behind Mirror Ball champion (and “Juniors” co-host) Jordan Fisher. Greenblatt’s resulting routine was full of strong choreographic content, storytelling and a couple of impressive lifts. And the young actress, as always, has a knack for getting into character.

Judge Val Chmerkovskiy thought it was “incredible and perfect,” and it showcased her “star quality.” Mandy Moore said, “I love it.” And Adam Rippon told her, “This freestyle dance showed everyone why you deserve to be in this competition.” Though Chmerkovskiy said it was perfect, that wasn’t quite the case when the scores came in: 9s from him and Rippon and a 10 from Moore, for a total of 28 out of 30. That was still a great score, though, and when combined with her perfect first dance of the night it kept her solidly in the competition.

However, these final results were based on a combination of judges’ scores and studio audience votes from the last two weeks. When those judges’ marks were tallied up, Greenblatt ranked last out of the four finalists with 114 out of 120. That was only four points off of first place, but the studio audience votes weren’t enough to overcome the deficit. Instead, the winner of “Juniors” was skateboarder Sky Brown. Do you think she deserved the title, or was Greenblatt robbed? Vote in our poll below to let us know.
