Best Variety Talk Series Emmy episode submissions revealed for all 6 nominees (Exclusive)

Gold Derby can exclusively reveal all of the Emmy episode submissions for the six 2018 contenders as Best Variety Talk Series. Each program enters one episode from this past season, and those will be available for voters to view on the Television Academy voter portal.

The two-time defending champ “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver” is back to defend its crown this year. Four of the previous nominees are also back — “Full Frontal with Samantha Bee,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” “Late Late Show with James Corden” and “Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” Competing for the first time is “Daily Show with Trevor Noah,” although it dominated the category for a decade under prior host Jon Stewart.

“Daily Show with Trevor Noah” is submitting the episode from February 22, 2018 with guest Lupita Nyong’o. The Comedy Central program has 2 nominations.

“Full Frontal with Samantha Bee” is submitting the episode from October 11, 2017. The TBS program has 4 nominations.

“Jimmy Kimmel Live” is submitting the episode from September 21, 2017 with guests Halle Berry and Senator Al Franken. The ABC program has 2 nominations.

“Last Week Tonight with John Oliver” is submitting the episode from July 2, 2017. The HBO program has 9 nominations.

“Late Late Show with James Corden” is submitting the episode from June 6, 2017 with guests Nicole Kidman, Kit Harington and Ed Sheeran. The CBS program has 4 nominations.

“Late Show with Stephen Colbert” is submitting the episode from September 25, 2017 with guests Sterling K. Brown and Chance the Rapper. The CBS program has 3 nominations.
