‘Big Brother 20’: Will there be a returning player? [POLL]

Big Brother” executive producer Allison Grodner kept her word: As she had promised Gold Derby last month, the BB20 cast is made up of newbies. For now. This is “Big Brother” we’re talking about. We know to expect the unexpected. It’s the milestone 20th season. Surely there will be at least one “Big Brother” vet, right?

Obviously the show is keeping mum for now. None of the new twists have been announced yet and a returning vet could be one of them — just like last year when Kevin accepted the first monetary temptation of the season, unleashing Paul back into the house. And in Season 18, four vets — James, Frank, Da’Vonne and Nicole — returned. The show could very well do this three seasons in a row.

If the show does bring back a familiar face, the question is how many of them will there be? The Season 20 cast has 16 people as is. The largest cast the show’s ever had is 17 Houseguests, in Season 17 and last year once Paul returned (albeit just for a couple hours since Cameron got evicted in the “BB Swap” later that night). In Season 18, it was 12 newbies with the four vets bringing the total to 16. If more than one vet returns in the Season 20 premiere, this would mark the largest cast ever, which would be fitting for a landmark season.

We must also parse Grodner’s words carefully. She said, “I think there’s certain expectations from our fans that it’ll be an all-stars season and all of that, and I think we’ve pretty much put that to rest. This will be a brand new cast.” She debunked rumors of an all-star season, but didn’t say anything about a returning player or two joining a brand new cast. Hmm…
