“Big Brother” 20 kicked off on June 27 with a jam-packed two-hour premiere episode that concluded with two of the houseguests getting punished while another reigned supreme and got to save seven others from the first live eviction on July 5. Are you rooting for one of those eight to win #BB20 or do you like someone from the other group better? Maybe one of the pair of houseguests under punishment has won you over?
Below are the initial thoughts of our live blogger, Denton Davidson, on each of the 16 houseguests on season 20 of “Big Brother.” After reading his first impressions, vote in our poll as to your favorite so far and then sound off in the comments section.
Steve Arienta is a 40-year old retired undercover detective. He’s currently a college professor who is tough as nails during the day, but enjoys a bubble bath at night. He’s doing this for his family, but at 13 years older than the average age of everyone in the house, he may have some serious trouble. Let’s face it, Steve is totally screwed.
Sam Bledsoe is a Southerner from Virginia and professional welder. As a woman in a male-dominated industry, she’s comfortable holding her own. She lives in a camper in her mom’s yard and has a strategy of walking into the house “guns blazing.” That rarely works out for anyone. Good luck Sam!
Haleigh Broucher is a country girl who is comfortable getting down and dirty with farm chores. She’s also studying psychology and is fully prepared to flirt, smile and use her Southern charm whenever it may benefit her. She plans to fly under the radar until it’s time to sneak up on everyone and steal the half million dollars.
Kaycee Clark is a professional female football player. She’s got a big personality and seems like a lot of fun. She’s a “Big Brother” superfan and watches the show regularly as a bonding experience with her dad.
Tyler Crispen is a beach lifeguard in South Carolina. He pretty much fits every stereotype you can imagine when thinking of a lifeguard. The long, blond hair and beach bod is a prototype we seem to get nearly every season. He thinks his ability to perform under intense situations will transfer to the “Big Brother” house, but his biggest weakness is his brain.
Bayleigh Dayton‘s claim to fame is that she was the first African-American Miss Missouri USA. She also won Miss Congeniality at the Miss USA competition, which may mean she knows how to work well with others. She’s currently a flight attendant and comfortable catering to cranky, annoying people.
Kaitlyn Herman is a certified life coach. That’s a profession I’ve always been baffled by, I hope she explains more. She enjoys meditating and working with crystals and essential oils. She seems like a hippie and is convinced her spirit guides will lead her to winning the game.
Winston Hines sells medical devices and is a big believer in the second amendment. He loves shooting it up in the gun range and is the proud owner of a conceal and carry license. He is just one of those guys that feels more safe going to a movie theater with a gun on his hip. Aside from that disturbing factoid, Winston is definitely going to be catching eyes from the ladies in the house and I predict he will quickly fall into the season’s most “Eeeewww”-worthy showmance.
Angie “Rockstar” Lantry is a flashy dresser and wears her personality on her sleeve, literally. She’s the mother of three children and seems like a great person, but she has no chance in this game. I predict tears by episode 2.
JC Mounduix is a professional dancer and loves hitting the gym. He’s short, gay and has a Spanish accent so he’s fully prepared to be discriminated against. He’s taught himself to have a positive attitude and he thinks his life experiences will help him in the “Big Brother House.”
Brett Robinson considers himself a “bro” and does “bro stuff.” Oh brother! He may look all brawn, but he’s a cybersecurity engineer. He doesn’t like hanging out with the nerds he works with because he prefers to be alone playing video games. This guy has potential to really piss people off. He’s definitely arrogant.
Angela Rummans is a fitness model and an avid athlete. She’s been to the Olympic trials and is ready to kick everyone’s butts in the physical competitions. She’s highly competitive and based on her confidence and outspoken nature, I’m guessing she will immediately clash with other houseguests.
Scottie Salton is a self-described dweeb. He’s 26, never been kissed and has never had a girlfriend. He’s a huge gamer and his ability to think strategically will serve him well in the house. What will shock people in the house is that Scottie is actually so athletic that he won “Best Athlete” in high school. Look out for Scottie!
Faysal Shafaat is a substitute teacher and football coach. He had a successful college football career and is describes himself as a “proud Muslim.” Faysal looks like he’s got his head on his shoulders and I expect him to have a solid game.
Rachel Swindler is a Las Vegas performer and is 100% a hustler. She has mastered the art of flirtation and manipulation and I love her so much more now that I’ve seen this segment. I think she’s a threat!
Chris “Swaggy C” Williams is a former college basketball player and now works as a day trader. He’s called Swaggy C because he looks fly no matter what. When he’s not day trading, he works as a babysitter in the suburbs. Swaggy says he’ll do whatever it takes to win the game, but at this point I feel like he’s willing to do whatever it takes to be famous. I’ll believe he’s got game when I see it.
