Faysal Shafaat was the ninth houseguest to be evicted on “Big Brother” season 20, losing in a landslide vote on the live eviction show of August 30. He could only convince one of the other #BB20 contestants, Sam Bledsoe, to keep him in the house. His rival, Haleigh Broucher, got the rest of the players onside and will continue in the competition.
They had been put on the chopping block by Angela Rummans, a 26-year-old fitness model from Southern California, who reigned as the ninth Head of Household. Are you sorry to see Fessy go? Vote in our poll below and then sound off in the comments section.
Voting to send Faysal, a 26-year-old teacher from Florida, packing were: Kaycee Clark, Tyler Crispen, JC Mounduix and Brett Robinson. Voting to evict Haleigh, a 21-year-old college student from Texas was Sam.
This was the first time for each of these two to be in the firing line. Haleigh had been nominated in Week 4 by HOH Sam Bledsoe. She was thrown a lifeline then by Faysal after he won the Power of Veto.
In his post-exit interview with Julie Chen, Fessy readily admitted to being blindsided by Angela. “When she nominated me I was surprised. I kept her safe the week before. I figured she would nominate Haleigh. I didn’t see both of us coming.” He explained his pre-game strategy thus: “I just knew I was going to compete in competitions and be loyal to people from the beginning. I didn’t want to turn my back on anybody. I was going to stick it out and ride until the wheels fell off.”
Had he won the Power of Veto, he would still be in the house, even if that meant saying good-bye to Haleigh. “If I would have used the Veto on me she would have definitely went home.” As for their future once the show is over? He is hopeful it will continue and flourish off-camera.
