“Big Brother 20″‘s Power Apps were supposed to shake up the game this season. They have instilled paranoia and have affected nominations and evictions, but none of them have been properly executed, or at least executed in the way everyone (ahem, production) expected. And while the third and final Power App is still in play, 63 percent of our readers think the twist has been a total snooze so far, while only 12 percent think they’ve been great and 25 percent think it’s too soon to tell.
Sam, Tyler and Bayleigh received the three Power Apps, but two of them have not gone as intended. Sam’s Bonus Life power was enforced on Kaitlyn, but she completely bombed the comp and did not return to the game. That might actually be the biggest blindside this season. Absolutely no one saw her epic fail coming that has apparently messed up the show’s double eviction plans.
At least Sam’s was used, even if it wasn’t at her discretion. Bayleigh walked out of the house Thursday with her Identity Theft app still in her pocket. Hers was poised to be one of the chaos-inducing twists since she could change the HOH’s nominations in secret. But her downfall began when she told Rachel about it, leading to Brett revealing it to the whole house. Then she told Tyler and Angela that her app is good until the final eight, so they engineered her backdoor and eviction so she wouldn’t have the opportunity to use it.
So that leaves Tyler, whose Cloud app will likely be utilized this week if he doesn’t win the Veto. Haleigh, who nominated him as the hacker last week, is the HOH, and — spoiler alert! — he already pitched to Haleigh Thursday night that if she wants to put him up, she should backdoor him instead of nominating him outright, which would give him two chances to save himself (the Hacker Comp and the Veto). Click here to see who Haleigh nominated.
So we might finally get to see a Power App be properly used this week and shock the house. Fingers crossed.
