On Thursday’s live episode of “Big Brother,” Julie Chen teased the latest twist, the Hacker Competition. One houseguest a week will win the ability to “secretly hack” the game. We won’t see it explained fully till Sunday’s show. However, we’ve been keeping an eye on the live feeds since the August 2 episode went off the air and can reveal several key components of the competition as revealed in the following spoilers.
The remaining 11 #BB20 houseguests have been buzzing about this new twist, which will take place each Friday following the nominations by that week’s Head of Household. The winner of the Hack Comp ends up with a lot of leeway as evidenced by the details below. But be warned: they can choose not to invoke any or all of their newfound powers. Should they do so, it can be anonymously if they so choose.
They can rescue one of the nominees from the eviction vote and name a replacement. In addition, they can choose one of the houseguests (other than the HoH and nominees) to compete for the Power of Veto. And they can nullify one of the votes for eviction.
As for the competition itself, it is open to all the houseguests and will be a time trial that is carried out individually. Check back for the results of the first Hacker Competition later on Friday, August 3. And weigh in below in the comments section with your thoughts on this new twist and whether it gives one person too much power to change the game.
