Bill Hader (‘Barry’) Emmy episode revealed for Best Comedy Actor (Exclusive)

Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Bill Hader is entering the “Barry” episode “Chapter Seven: Loud, Fast and Keep Going” as his Emmy submission for Best Comedy Actor. This installment aired May 6 and was the seventh episode of the first season for the HBO show.

In this segment, Barry (Hader) and Chris survive a doomed mission from the previous episode. Chris (Chris Marquette) overreacts to killing one of the Bolivians, so Barry is forced to kill him before going to the police. Barry then goes to his acting class showcase of “Macbeth” and deliver his one line with great emotion.

Hader has five nominations this year, with four for “Barry” (producing, directing, writing, acting) and one for guest hosting “Saturday Night Live.” Prior to this he had one win (producing “South Park” in 2009) among 10 nominations. For the 2018 ceremony, he is up against last year’s winner Donald Glover (“Atlanta”), previous winners Ted Danson (“The Good Place”),  Larry David (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”) and William H. Macy (“Shameless”), plus past nominee Anthony Anderson (“Black-ish”).
