Billboard Hot 100: Bruno Mars skyrockets, Justin Timberlake debuts, and Ed Sheeran still leads, but Beyonce bounced

It’s a busy week on the Billboard Hot 100 singles charts as there are two new top-10 entries and a returning chart-topper with a slightly different configuration. Watch the video above to find out this week’s biggest hits on that chart dated January 20.

Ed Sheeran‘s “Perfect” remains number-one for the sixth week in a row, but this time without Beyonce. The success of their duet helped propel the song to number-one for the last five weeks, but this week the solo version contributed primarily to the song’s overall sales, streams, and radio airplay, so Sheeran is the only credited artist this time around. And with six weeks on top “Perfect” is halfway to matching the 12 weeks his “Shape of You” spent at number-one last year.

But “Perfect” may not make it that far if Bruno Mars makes another giant leap next week. He and Cardi B have skyrocketed to the number-three slot — up a whopping 32 places from last week — for their remix of Mars’s song “Finesse” from his album “24K Magic.” This is the 15th top-10 hit for Mars and the fourth for Cardi B. Mars has been number-one on the chart seven times before, most recently with “That’s What I Like” in 2017. Cardi B was on top for the first time last fall with “Bodak Yellow.”

Further down the chart is a top-10 debut for Justin Timberlake‘s “Filthy.” The lead single from his upcoming album “Man of the Woods” enters the Hot 100 at number-nine, which marks his 24th top-10 single, counting six with the boy band N Sync and 18 as a solo artist. This is his first visit to the chart since “Can’t Stop the Feeling” reached number-one in 2016.
