Monday night on “The Voice,” Brynn Cartelli represented Team Kelly Clarkson during the live Top 24 episode of Season 14. On her 15th birthday, Brynn sang Sia‘s “Unstoppable” and was immediately voted through to the Top 12 based on America’s live results. Brynn’s fellow teammates (Alexa Cappelli, Kaleb Lee, Tish Haynes Keys, Dylan Hartigan and D.R. King) will get another shot to advance to the finals when they perform on Wednesday’s live episode. “I’m gonna try not to cry because I’m that person — sorry!” Kelly told host Carson Daly before he named Brynn as the winner of America’s vote. “I’m just so excited about them and I just can’t reiterate to each of them how different they are. So you’ve gotta really keep that in mind. If you’re not picked tonight, if you’re not picked the next night or the next night, every one of you is so different, so it’s apples and oranges, you know?”
“You’ve all done remarkably well,” Kelly added. “I couldn’t be more proud, I always tell y’all that. You’re my first team [and] I love each and every one of you — you all nailed it.” Brynn appeared speechless when she received the good news, holding her hand over her mouth as she rushed over to hug Kelly. At only 15 years old, Brynn is one of the youngest finalists in “The Voice” history.
In his recap of “The Voice,” our live-blogger John Benutty declared, “Brynn begins her performance on the keyboard, showing her artistry and maturity for being the youngest in the competition. This is an excellent song choice for her because it has a ton of huge notes and lets the depth of her voice really shine. I wouldn’t be surprised to see her top the team tonight!”
