‘Celebrity Big Brother’: 57% of fans hated Recast twist, deeming it ‘completely unfair to HOH winner’ [POLL RESULTS]

The first-ever USA edition of “Celebrity Big Brother” shook up the show’s normal format by introducing a new Recast twist that allowed one lucky houseguest (Keshia Knight Pulliam) to overthrow the current Head of Household (Shannon Elizabeth). While it didn’t necessarily change the game since Keshia and Shannon were (at that time) in an alliance, the majority of the show’s fans are still in agreement about one thing: the Recast twist needs to go!

According to the results of our recent poll, a whopping 57% of readers voted that they hated the new power because it was “completely unfair to the HOH winner.” Shannon lucked out that her alliance member Keshia was awarded the twist, because they both were in agreement about which two houseguests should be nominated for eviction that first week: Chuck Liddell and James Maslow. Can you imagine if Chuck had been lucky enough to take over for the Head of Household? Instead of going home in Week 1, he would have held all the power.

One passionate reader, Mary, responded that she thought the twist was “ridiculous.” She even equated it to when “Survivor” changed its rules at the last second to allow fan-favorite castaway Ben Driebergen to play in a fire-making challenge instead of being voted out. Ben went on to win the season thanks in part to this twist.

As for the other 43% of respondents who voted in our “Celebrity Big Brother” poll, 23% said they loved the Recast for the potential of “shaking up the game,” while 20% readily admitted they wanted to “see how it all plays out first.” The “Big Brother” motto is to “expect the unexpected,” and the Recast definitely fell into that category.
