7:59 p.m. – Perennial host Julie Chen is back again for what’s technically the 21st season of “Big Brother” following 19 regular cycles as well as the online-only “Over the Top” edition. We could go on and on about our love for this show. But first! The doors to the house are about to be unlocked …

8:05 p.m. – This house looks way to cushy! I wish they would have actually scaled it back and made these celebs a little less comfortable. With only three weeks to play, this season is going to move super fast and multiple houseguests will be evicted each week. Mark doesn’t believe he will be seen as a threat and will get along with everyone. He is actually my early pick to win it all. Brandi said she will do anything for money. Ain’t that the truth. She thinks people will either love her or hate her; well, she’s honest. She has no chance. Meta knows nothing about “Big Brother” and his only concern is that there will be cameras in the shower.

8:10 p.m. – Props to Ariadna for admitting she is famous because she was wrongly crowned Miss Universe. She actually seems likable; could she be the dark horse to win? Ross is a superfan of “Big Brother” and that could work to his advantage. Mark, Brandi, Meta, Ariadna and Ross are the first to see each other and enter the house. Meta looks terrified! He ran straight to the shower to make sure there were no cameras.

8:15 p.m. – Shannon has been working for a charity called Animal Adventures in Cape Town, South Africa. So that’s where she’s been hiding out! She is a poker player in her spare time and seems to think she can handle the competition within the house easily. Chuck may be a MMA fighter in the ring, but he has a soft side when it comes to his children. He said he’s going to go hard from the beginning. That probably won’t work in his favor. Keshia mentioned being the youngest person ever nominated for an Emmy Award. I never knew that! She now runs a spice line called “Keshia’s Kitchen.” She could be a threat as well. Marissa is now a theater director and has focused on her family. Her son burst into tears when he found out she was going to be on the show. Awww. Her plan is to play “cute, chubby Marissa” all the way to the winner’s circle.

8:20 p.m. – Jason doesn’t have a strategy to win and I’m already bored with him. Let’s talk Omarosa! She has no problem claiming that she is a reality TV legend. The one thing she learned form politics is to watch your back. She is looking forward to being away from the press. What the world doesn’t know is that Omarosa is a “Big Brother” superfan. She’s ready to slay! She walked onto the stage like she was on the catwalk. I can’t wait for this drama! Don’t we love to hate her?

8:25 p.m. – Oh My Rosa! Ross was not looking forward to seeing “The Apprentice” villain in the house and he hates negativity. Omarosa is trying to control her competitive nature”to build trust.” But already there is a secret alliance between Shannon and Marissa, who have had a friendship for years. James and Omarosa had a friendly chat and he confessed he had never heard of “The Apprentice.” Really dude? He’s toast.

8:30 p.m. – James was trying to give the houseguests tips on singing. Nobody cares! But Brandi is the most obvious about it. She repeatedly cut him off and said “I don’t like the pretty boy.” Way to put a target on your back Brandi! This ain’t a Beverly Hills mansion. Omarosa is hatching a plan with Shannon to form a women’s alliance. After recruiting Shannon, Omarosa moved on to Marissa and Ariadna. Her tactic has been successful and the women are desperate to win HOH and put two men up for eviction. Shannon let Keshia and Brandi in on the plan and they seem on board as well. Girl power!

8:36 p.m. – Time for the first HOH! The winner will nominate two houseguests for eviction. Julie announced that one houseguest will be safe for the week if they choose the right “star.” Stars on the floor each contain a number. If the number matches the one in Julie’s envelope, that houseguest will be safe and not compete in the HOH. And Omarosa won. Rigged???!!! Okay, I’m going to let that slide, but that seems super shady, CBS. Anyways, Omarosa is safe, and the rest of the houseguests are hanging from award-like statues. The last to fall will be crowned HOH.

8:45 p.m. – Meta is harnessing his “glute power” to remain on the statue and is not intimidated by anyone. Suddenly, Paul Abrahamian, the only person to come in second place twice on “Big Brother,” emerged singing on the stage. Then Season 13 champ Rachel Reilly joined him in song, Cody Nickson and Jessica Graf appeared in the audience, and Jessie Godderz aka “Mr. Pectacular,” appeared shirtless. Glad they’re milking their 15 minutes of fame. For the record, they’re terrible singers. Marissa was the first to fall off the statue, followed by Meta. Mark, Ross, Ariadna, Keshia and Brandi were next. It is down to James and Shannon. Who will be the first HOH?

8:55 p.m. – James and Shannon are the only two left hanging. Chuck realizes there are more women than men, and knows they are vulnerable if James loses. James is hurting and decides to make a deal with Shannon. Omarosa chimes in and says he is the one adjusting. blowing up his deal with Shannon before it was even negotiated. After the statues began to spin, it became more difficult to hold on and James fell. Shannon is the first HOH! She proclaimed it is the season of the women and she is coming for the men. Before they houseguests went back in the house, they were each given swag bags. What’s inside?

8:59 p.m. – How could these bags shake up the game? Julie announced Shannon is the HOH “for now.” Each celebrity has a swag bag, but the contents vary. One of the houseguests has the power to re-cast HOH, allowing them to take over the role from Shannon. How does it all work? We will find out….soon enough. What a fantastic premiere! On Thursday, two celebs will be nominated for eviction. Then, on Friday, the first houseguest will be evicted.
