Wednesday night on “Celebrity Big Brother,” fans witnessed the houseguests’ mixed reactions to Metta World Peace quitting the game. Brandi Glanville was happy because she likely would have gone home had he stayed, while Omarosa was disappointed because Metta’s ouster meant that she didn’t get to take out one of her targets. After all the dust settled, one player was named the winner of the Head of Household competition and then nominated two players for eviction. How did it all play out?

7:59 p.m. – “Previously, on ‘Big Brother’!” In Monday’s ninth episode Metta sent shockwaves through reality TV when he told his fellow housemates to evict him. “I cannot live without my family another day,” he confessed to host Julie Chen following his unanimous eviction. With only seven players still in the house, lines have been drawn with Brandi, Ross Mathews, Marissa Jaret Winokur and Ariadna Gutierrez on one side and Omarosa, James Maslow and Mark McGrath on the other. Which alliance will claim the power tonight? Let’s find out!
8:10 p.m. – Following Metta’s eviction, Brandi breathed a sigh of relief. She is genuinely emotional about what he sacrificed to her. Prior to that live show, Metta pleaded with Omarosa to send him home. She complied, but admits she continues to lose allies and is now a floater. Meanwhile, it is revealed that Ross convinced Marissa they should go to the final four with James and Mark. They call themselves #Roomiequad. Ross and Marissa are in a great spot because they have final four deals with two different pairs and just have to sit back and see where the power falls.
8:15 p.m. – James thinks Ross made a poor game move by taking himself off the block. He had the numbers on his side, and had he stayed, they could have voted out Brandi. James also reveals that Omarosa is not their next target, he wants to dismantle a pair. Ross is scared of Omarosa because she is after him. He is hoping to unite the entire house against her so she will be voted out. Ariadna keeps proving to be smarter than I ever gave her credit for, telling Brandi she knows James will come after them if he wins HOH. She’s also on to the fact that Ross is playing a little too nice with Mark.
8:20 p.m. – Time for the HOH competition! In “Red Carpet Ride,” competitors will race across flimsy carpets that are hovering above the ground. There are two heats, with three players in each heat. The top two times from those heats will compete in one final heat. That winner will be named the new HOH!
8:30 p.m. – Brandi won the first heat, followed by Marissa and then Ariadna. But if the men are all faster in their heat, none of the women will make the final. Lucky for them, the men appear equally uncoordinated. Eventually Mark finished in first, followed by James. Ross eventually made it across, in what was likely the worst time of all. It became sort of a hilarious story of inspiration as told by Ross in the diary room.
8:35 p.m. – The final heat consists of Brandi, James and Mark. Mark had the top time in the first heat, so he should be considered the front-runner. James actually finished first in the final, but waited next to the buzzer hoping Mark could beat Brandi. If Mark wins this HOH, James can play in the next, most important HOH. Finally, it hits Omarosa that Mark and James have a final two deal. And Mark, indeed, was named the new HOH.
8:45 p.m. – Mark compares his HOH win to opening for The Rolling Stones. That’s a little excessive and maybe a bit sad. Immediately, Marissa reinforces to James that Omarosa is a liar, trying to paint a target on her back. Meanwhile, Omarosa is picking Mark’s brain and feels relieved to hear Ariadna and Brandi sound like his targets. In a separate conversation, Ross once again tries to steer Mark toward targeting Omarosa. Mark isn’t budging and tells Ross and Marissa not to buck the final four. But Marissa doesn’t want to abandon her girls and isn’t thrilled with Mark’s plan.
8:55 p.m. – Brandi confronts Mark and asks if him winning HOH was a set-up because she doesn’t understand why James threw it. She’s trying to plant seeds of doubt in Mark’s head about James and why he should get to play in the next HOH instead of Mark. Meanwhile, Ariadna is desperate for Brandi to shut up because she keeps digging herself into a deeper hole. Clearly, Mark is going to target Brandi after this rant.
8:59 p.m. – It is time for the Nomination Ceremony. Mark has nominated Ariadna and Brandi for eviction, stating he heard through the grapevine that Brandi has been targeting him. Ariadna is guilty by association and Mark just wants to split up that duo. But Brandi believes this has James’ name written all over it and gives Mark no credit for coming up with this plan on his own.
