The final of the first season of “Celebrity Big Brother” is Sunday (Feb. 25) on CBS. Heading into this live show, the Final 5 remaining houseguests are: the two most recent Head of Household winners — singer Mark McGrath and “The Apprentice” star Omarosa — as well as two other past HoH champs (TV personality Ross Mathews and beauty queen Ariadna Gutierrez) and actress Marissa Janet Winokur.
Winokur had faced elimination twice in a row on Friday’s episode. However, she won enough votes that “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Brandi Granville and singer James Maslow were sent packing instead. Since that show aired, we’ve been watching the live feeds and have a lot to report. Spoilers ahead.
Mathews won Head of Household for a second time. He had narrowly escaped elimination on Friday, after being nominated by Omarosa, by winning the Power of Veto. She swapped out Maslow who lost the vote to Winokur. Not surprisingly, Mathews has named his nemesis as one of the two nominees for eviction. His other pick is Gutierrez, who ad been nominated by Friday’s first HoH, McGrath. After she won the PoV competition, Mathews swapped her out with Winokur who won over Granville.
Mathews solidified his plan to oust Omarosa by winning the Power of Veto competition and opting to keep the line-up for eviction as is. Had one of his two nominees for eviction won this all-important power, he was going to put his pal Winokur in the firing line once again.
On Sunday’s live show, there will be a competition among the final four. The winner of that will get to decide which two houseguests go and who they are taking to the final two, with the ultimate champion then crowned by the evicted houseguests.
