‘Celebrity Big Brother’ spoilers: First Head of Household, Power of Veto winners

“Celebrity Big Brother” doesn’t start airing on CBS until Wednesday (Feb. 7) but we got a look inside the house for a few minutes on Monday. The live feeds were turned on to tease us for 15 tantalizing minutes. This first celebrity edition of the “Big Brother” franchise follows the same format as the regular version and will also be hosted by Julie Chen. The 11 cast members of “Celebrity Big Brother” are split six to five in favor of the women. Spoilers ahead

The half dozen women in the running for the $250,000 prize are: reality TV stars Brandi Glanville of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” fame and Omarosa, a one-time player on “The Apprentice,” who parlayed her subsequent friendship with Donald Trump into a White House job; three actresses [Shannon Elizabeth (“American Pie”), Keshia Knight Pulliam (“The Cosby Show”) and Marissa Jaret Winokur (“Hairspray”)]; and Miss Colombia 2014 Ariadna Gutierrez, who was mistakenly named Miss Universe by Steve Harvey.

The five fellows taking part are two athletes [UFC mixed martial artist Chuck Liddell and NBA player Metta World Peace]; two singers [James Maslow of Big Time Rush and Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray]; and TV personality Ross Mathews.

From the feeds, we learned that the six women have formed an effective alliance that includes the first Head of Household. It is likely to be one of these four: Shannon Elizabeth, Brandi Glanville, Ariadna Gutierrez or Omarosa.

And we discovered that Elizabeth won the all-important Power of Veto over, among others, Mark McGrath who is being a sore loser. To that end, while Chuck Liddell and James Maslow are the current HoH nominees for eviction, that could change with McGrath taking Lidell’s place.
