‘You nailed it!’ Kelly Clarkson tells Chevel Shepherd after she hits big note during ‘The Voice’ live show [WATCH]

Monday, November 26 on “The Voice,” Chevel Shepherd took on “Space Cowboy” for Team Kelly Clarkson during the Top 11 performance episode. Chevel has no problem singing older or newer country songs, so she was happy to deliver the Kacey Musgraves hit. As this was “Fan Night,” America got to pick which song each artist performed, but will Chevel earn enough votes to make it through to next week’s all-important Top 10? Watch “The Voice” live performance above and read the judges’ comments below.

“Yes hit that note!” Kelly shouted while jumping up and down. “I was like, I want you to go for a big note and you did it, you nailed it! Baby girl, I’m so proud of you. I’m such a big fan. I think the thing that I love about country music that I loved since I was a kid is the thing that you are so innately good at, and that’s just story-telling. Just a beautiful lyric, a beautiful song, and just telling the story, and I love you for it. I’m so happy for you.”

Kelly is the only coach with four artists still in the reality TV competition. Besides Chevel, there’s also Kymberli JoyeSarah Grace and Lynnea Moorer. While the first three singers have been with Team Kelly since the very beginning, Lynnea joined two weeks ago after America named her the show’s first Comeback artist.

Prior to this performance of “Space Cowboy,” Chevel sang “If I Die Young” during the blind auditions, “You Look So Good in Love” during the battles, “Travelin’ Soldier” during the knockouts, “Grandpa (Tell Me ‘Bout the Good Old Days)” during Top 26 week and “Little White Church” during Top 13 week.

During his “The Voice” live blog, our recapper Denton Davidson had this to say about the live performance: “Chevel begins sitting next to a piano on stage and the purity in her voice is magnified brilliantly. She continues to nail it each week and I’m not sure anyone’s stock has risen more in this competition in the last two weeks. I love the breaks in her voice and nothing seems forced. Well done! I think she’s done enough to be safe this week.”
