Courtney Hadwin sings ‘Born To Be Wild’ on ‘America’s Got Talent’ Semifinals, but Heidi Klum and Mel B refuse to stand [WATCH]

Fourteen-year-old phenom Courtney Hadwin returned to “America’s Got Talent” during this week’s Semifinals 2 episode and performed “Born To Be Wild” by Steppenwolf. All season long Courtney has been Gold Derby’s frontrunner to win Season 13 and this performance showed everyone why. Howie Mandel (her Golden Buzzer mentor) and Simon Cowell gave Courtney a standing ovation, but Heidi Klum and Mel B refused to stand because they felt she was too nervous. Is Courtney in danger of advancing to next week’s “AGT” Finals? Watch the “Americas Got Talent” video above, read the judges’ comments below, and then make your predictions before Wednesday’s results show.

Howie Mandel: “I can’t sit down. You were born to be wild. And this was wild. You’re amazing. The buzz is gonna continue. My prediction is you are gonna win ‘America’s Got Talent’ 2018.”

Mel B: “Now, there’s no doubt you are — you’re just out there, man. I love it. I love your dress sense. I love the way you sing, the way you belt the notes. For me, I have to be really honest, tonight was a little bit off. I felt your nerves. I didn’t feel that confidence that you usually have. I don’t know if it’s the pressure of the Semifinals. You did what you did and I loved it, but I still felt those nerves and I’m not used to that with you.”

Heidi Klum: “I agree a little bit with Mel but I do love having you on the show because you bring a whole different vibe to it all. You know, because most girls your age, they kind of sing pop songs but you bring this gritty rock and rock and I love that. You’re authentic, you’re original, and I wish you good luck.”

Simon Cowell: “You know what, Courtney? None of your performances should be perfect because that’s not what you’re about. It’s kind of like a bundle of excitement and it’s raw and it’s messy, but that’s what makes you great. You’re 14 years old, right? I saw you at the beginning of the show backstage, shaking like a leaf. Then you come on stage and you turn into a maniac. And that’s why I absolutely love you, Courtney. Please God you’re in the Final next week because you really stand a shot. I absolutely adore you. Congrats.”

In his “AGT” live blog, our recapper Denton Davidson had this to say about the performance: “The last act of the night is Howie’s Golden Buzzer winner and front-runner to win it all, Courtney Hadwin. The introduction package showed how much buzz she has created on the internet and it’s as if the winner has already been crowned. Finally, Courtney takes the stage singing ‘Born to Be Wild’ by Steppenwolf. This is probably my least favorite performance of hers, but she’s doing her thing. Only Simon and Howie stood up for this act.”
