The “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes” final six will duke it out in three pairs of Ballroom Battles on Monday to grab extra points, but the dance-offs probably won’t be that close. In a recent poll, our readers think there is a clear favorite in each showdown.
BFFs Adam Rippon and Mirai Nagasu, who will do the jive, are the top two points leaders and both have tremendous skill. But a whopping 72 percent believe Rippon will run away with it.
The results were similarly close between Tonya Harding and Jennie Finch Daigle, who are tasked with a cha-cha. Finch Daigle just did a cha-cha last week, but her stiff performance — after requesting a song change — did not instill anyone with confidence, as Harding grabbed 78 percent of the vote. Harding, actually, has the largest margin of victory of our three polls.
The closest one is between Chris Mazdzer and Josh Norman, with the NFL player edging out the Olympic silver medalist 55 to 45 percent. They have the salsa, which Mazdzer had as his Week 1 dance, but he also accidentally dropped a table on his foot over the weekend, so that’s not good. If Rippon and Nagasu make the final as expected, this matchup could decide the third spot, depending on how individual dances go.
Fans can vote live for their favorite dancer during the Ballroom Battles. Their votes will only count in the event of a tie in the scores from the judges.
