Is Adam Rippon a perfect 10? Perhaps on the dance floor: 52 percent of our readers think the Olympic bronze medalist and his partner Jenna Johnson will be the first couple to get a perfect score from all the judges on “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes.” (Check out our live blog recapping week two right here.)
Rippon topped last week’s leaderboard with a 24, along with Josh Norman and Sharna Burgess, who somewhat surprisingly only nabbed 19 percent in our poll. That jibes with our predictions, which still have Rippon winning the Mirrorball trophy. Norman climbed all the way up to third place following his sizzling debut in our odds, but he’s still behind Rippon’s Olympic teammate Mirai Nagasu.
Nagasu and her partner Alan Bersten are right on Norman’s heels, with 18 percent confident she’ll be the first to get a perfect score. After that, it’s a steep drop: Tonya Harding and Sasha Farber, who tied Nagasu last week with a 23, got 6 percent of the vote. Olympic silver medalist Chris Mazdzer and Witney Carson received 2 percent, and there’s a three-way tie at 1 percent between Jennie Finch Daigle and Keo Motsepe, Arike Ogunbowale and Gleb Savchenko, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Lindsay Arnold.
On a regular season, judges tend to hold back the 10 paddles until the latter half of the season, but with only four weeks this time around, they will definitely be coming soon rather than later. And if no one gets a perfect 30 in this shortened season? Then it’ll be the first time someone has won without at least one perfect score.
