‘A Star is Born’ on ‘Dancing with the Stars’? DeMarcus Ware performed a herculean Charleston on Disney Night [WATCH]

Did DeMarcus Ware make a much needed comeback on “Dancing with the Stars” during Disney Night? He began the season with the top judges’ score in week one, but since then his results have been erratic, culminating on Trios Night when he got his lowest score so far (22 out of 30), which landed him fourth from the bottom of the leaderboard. Moving back up would be a herculean feat, so it was lucky that his Disney routine had him literally playing Hercules.

Ware and his pro partner Lindsay Arnold performed a Charleston to “A Star is Born” from the 1997 animated musical “Hercules.” And Arnold wasn’t going to let all that strength go to waste. She choreographed a number for the six-foot-four, 258-pound Super Bowl champ full of high-flying lifts, and at one point he even spun her around in the air like a windmill. A few more performances like this and she’ll start earning frequent flyer miles.

Judge Carrie Ann Inaba certainly thought it was a comeback; she said, “We have been waiting for this breakthrough the whole season.” Len Goodman thought it was “jam-packed” and made him feel “great,” though he would have liked to see more Charleston content in the choreography. And Bruno Tonioli told Ware, “You never missed a beat … It was your most complete performance to date.”

That number earned him 9s from Inaba and Tonioli and an 8 from Goodman, giving him a total of 26 out of 30. That matched his Argentine tango on Most Memorable Year Night as his highest-scoring routine of the season, and it place him fourth on the leaderboard this week behind near-perfect Juan Pablo Di Pace and Alexis Ren (29) and the “Incredible” Milo Manheim (27). Did you think the routine was as good as the judges said? Vote in our poll below to let us know who had the best routine of the night.
