Are ‘Dancing with the Stars: Juniors’ judges lowballing Miles Brown? He deserved 30 for this ’50s jive [WATCH]

I’ll admit, it’s difficult to argue that someone on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” is getting lowballed by the judges when he got the highest score of the night and is literally the highest scoring contestant of the season, but I think “Black-ish” star Miles Brown has such superior technique and stage presence that if he were on the adult “DWTS” he’d be racking up perfect scores by now. But it took him seven weeks to earn his first, solitary 10. He got it for his 1950s-themed jive on Time Machine Night. Watch it above.

This week the child celebs performed routines celebrating a different era, and for Brown’s jive with pro partner Rylee Arnold, mentor Lindsay Arnold choreographed for them an “I Love Lucy”-style husband-and-wife sitcom number where it looked like Miles had some ‘splaining to do. Brown not only mastered the unrelenting choreography, he also conveyed the character of the dance.

Judge Mandy Moore told him, “You are here for the win, and I love that,” while also praising his “awesome side-by-side synchronized movements.” Adam Rippon added, “You had a moment, and tonight you seized it.” And Val Chmerkovskiy agreed: “You’ve got so much soul … You were born to do this.” Those were pretty effusive comments, but while Brown did finally get a 10 from Rippon, he still got 9s from Chmerkovskiy and Moore.

To be fair, Chmerkovskiy hasn’t given a 10 to anyone yet, and Moore has only given one 10 — to Sky Brown last week — so it seems all the “Juniors” judges have been difficult to please. But how much more mastery are they waiting for before they finally give out their first perfect 30? Vote in our poll below to let us know if you think Miles Brown had the night’s best performance.
