Master P’s paso no-ble was way worse than Grocery Store Joe’s unsexy salsa, ‘Dancing with the Stars’ fans say

Joe “Grocery Store Joe” Amabile‘s salsa on Monday’s “Dancing with the Stars” was a hot mess, but maybe it wasn’t that bad compared to some other dances. Like Master P‘s paso doble in Season 2, which 62 percent of our readers deemed the worst between the two terrible dances.

Master P is perhaps the only contestant who could rival Joe for the title of Truly Awful Dancer Who Lasted Way Longer Than He Should’ve. Neither of them showed the slightest improvement, unlike some  real underdogs, and Master P showed no effort at all. He just dragged his feet through four dances, the last of which was ostensibly a paso doble. It scored an 8, the lowest score in “Dancing” history, and he was charitably eliminated that night.

Joe’s “sexy” salsa was comparably better, which really isn’t saying much. He put in a tad more effort than the rapper, but the whole thing was a slow, out-of-sync, awkward embarrassment. This isn’t even counting his trio partner Jordan Kimball‘s wardrobe malfunction. If it was supposed to turn people on, it did the opposite. What he and Master P have in common besides bad dancing is that neither of them is having fun out there. They treat it as a chore they just want to get over with.

Still, Joe scored a 15 and was able to overcome an 11-point deficit to remain in the competition, while Tinashe was sent packing. Should he have gotten a lower score for that atrocity? Probably. But maybe the judges don’t want a lower score to encourage Bachelor Nation to vote even more. But what Len Goodman said to Master P 12 years ago about that paso applies to Joe: “I know the viewers think they’re being kind in bringing you back. They’re not; they’re being cruel to you, to Ashly [DelGrosso], to the judges. Honestly, it’s time to go.”
