You hope Sharna Burgess will shed her bridesmaid status on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ this season

Will Sharna Burgess finally be the bride on “Dancing with the Stars” this season? That’s what our readers are hoping: 52 percent want her to take home the Mirrorball trophy for the first time.

Burgess, who’s partnered with Bobby Bones, is one of five pros left who’ve never won before, but she has the deepest resume of them all. A pro since Season 16, she’s has three runner-up placements — Nick Carter (Season 21), James Hinchcliffe (Season 23) and Josh Norman (Season 26) — and one third-place finish, with Noah Galloway in Season 20. Bones is certainly no lock for the final — he has the second lowest scores of the cast, but his unpredictable personality should buy them a few more weeks, and hopefully he can improve in that time. As long as he doesn’t piss off Burgess with his unplanned moves anymore.

With 16 percent, Alan Bersten came in second. Bersten is in just his third season as a pro and has never had a long run before, having gone out second in Season 25 with Debbie Gibson and in Week 3 of the four-week “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes” installment with Mirai Nagasu. But he’s working well with model Alexis Ren, who definitely has the skill, but will she have the votes?

Someone who also hasn’t had many deep runs is Keo Motsepe, who received 13 percent of the vote. He’s been eliminated within the first three weeks five of six times during a regular “Dancing” season. Luckily, he finally has a contender this time with “Harry Potter” star Evanna Lynch, so even if he doesn’t win, maybe he’ll post his best finish yet.

In fourth place with 10 percent is Sasha Farber, who has improved his finish every time he’s been a pro, placing third last season with Tonya Harding. He has his second Olympic gymnastics champ in Mary Lou Retton, but she might be in danger of getting lost in the pack.

Earning 9 percent is Brandon Armstrong, who lucked out by getting paired with Tinashe in his first season as a pro. He’s doing great with her, but he’s likely last here because he hasn’t earned his stripes yet.
