Milo Manheim was hungry for 10s, and 10s he got! In week four of “Dancing with the Stars,” Trios Night, the 17-year-old Disney Channel star discussed how excited he was to receive his 9s on Most Memorable Year Night … until he saw Juan Pablo Di Pace get the first perfect score of the season a few minutes later. So he was a man on a mission when preparing for his trio routine. How did he do? Watch his routine above, then vote in our poll at the bottom of this post to let us know who you think was the best of the night?
For Trios Night, Manheim and his pro partner Witney Carson were teamed up with a “DWTS” alum: Riker Lynch, who was the runner-up in season 20. But even though Lynch lost the Mirror Ball Trophy to Rumer Willis, he was actually the highest-scoring contestant that season. Not a bad partner to draw for a trio routine.
Carson proved why she’s an Emmy nominated choreographer with a complex salsa routine that included lots of difficult dance content and creative collaboration with both of her dance partners. Judge Len Goodman wanted to see more hip action, but thought it was still the best performance of the night. Bruno Tonioli called it “electrifying,” with “delicious” details in the choreography. And Carrie Ann Inaba thought it was “absolutely perfect.”
The scores were perfect too — well, most of them were. Manheim got 10s from Inaba and Tonioli, but Goodman was a holdout, only giving the teen contestant a 9. That gave him a total of 29 out of 30, which was the highest score of the evening, but just shy of total perfection. Damn that hip action!
