Daniel Emmet burns down the house with ‘I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing’ cover on ‘America’s Got Talent’ live show [WATCH]

Opera singer Daniel Emmet returned to “America’s Got Talent” 2018 this week to perform live from the Dolby Theatre in the Quarterfinals 3 episode. After being shockingly eliminated back in the Judge Cuts, Daniel was allowed to return as a wild card in the live shows. For his encore performance Daniel burned down the house with an Italian version of Aerosmith‘s “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing.” Did the opera singer do enough to win over America’s vote? Watch the “Americas Got Talent” performance video above, read the judges’ comments below, and make your predictions for which seven acts will advance to the Semifinals.

Heidi Klum: “Oh my God, I mean how good are you? I mean you really are one of the best, strongest singers that we have here on the show and if I had one more Golden Buzzer I would push it right now so you could go straight to the Semifinals. I just love you. I really, really do.”

Simon Cowell: “I am so happy I persuaded the other three to put you through as a wild card. Genuinely, it took a lot of persuasion but we got there together, you and I, Daniel. You may not realize your voice was so powerful the stage lit up in fire behind you. Literally. You know what? Hats off to you. That is what I call a moment. Congratulations.”

Howie Mandel: “You know what? I think it was surreal. I feel like my parents took me to see Pavarotti doing Aerosmith. It was so wonderful and different. You make me feel a lot classier than I actually am.”

Mel B: “The key change was everything. Oh my gosh. If I had one little bit of criticism, I wish you had started off a little bit quieter so that key change would have been even more dramatic. ‘Cause you can sing.”

In his “AGT” live blog our recapper John Benutty had this to say about the performance: “Tonight’s wild card act was Daniel Emmet who was brought back to regale us with his operatic voice. If you’ll remember, he was given another second chance during his initial audition when Simon asked him to learn and then sing a new song instead of the one he had already chosen. Supported by the dramatics of a full stage (and fire!), Daniel’s powerful voice was finally in the appropriate setting and I think that’ll help voters understand his vision as an artist. Heidi loved his performance so much that she said she’d use a golden buzzer for him if she had one. Similarly, Simon tried taking credit for the decision to bring him back, but the rest of the panel wasn’t having it (they all want credit, too).”
