Dave Fenley is ‘exhausted’ after beatboxing to ‘Use Me’ during ‘The Voice’ live show, but Adam Levine is ‘in shock’ [WATCH]

Monday, November 26 on “The Voice,” Dave Fenley took on “Use Me” for Team Blake Shelton during the Top 11 performance episode. Dave beatboxed much of the song, showing a side of his talent that he hasn’t yet delivered on the live stage. As this was “Fan Night,” America got to pick which song each artist performed, but will Dave earn enough votes to make it through to next week’s all-important Top 10? Watch “The Voice” live performance above and read the judges’ comments below.

“I’m exhausted!” Dave shouted after his performance, as Adam Levine seemed a bit speechless. “I’m in shock a little bit. Like, what?” Adam declared. “That was wild. I gotta tell you, man, it makes me happy to see you just doing what is seemingly whatever you want. That’s so cool. People fall into this rut at this point and they feel like they gotta be so safe and do everything a certain way. I just commend you for just going at it and doing your thing and doing it your way.”

When it was finally his turn to speak, Blake told his country artist, “Dave, I gotta say, season after season [we’re] waiting for an artist to have that ‘moment’ we call it on the show where something happens, a performance happens. You just had that, dude. You just threw yourself into the heat of this thing. Congratulations.”

Prior to this performance of “Use Me,” Dave sang “Help Me Hold On” during the blind auditions, “I’m a One-Woman Man” during the battles, “Stuck on You” during the knockouts, “Angel Flying Too Close to the Ground” during Top 26 week and “Hard to Love” during Top 13 week.

During his “The Voice” live blog, our recapper Denton Davidson had this to say about the live performance: “Dave begins his performance with his secret talent before moving to center stage and breaking into song. Vocally, Dave is doing fine but everything about this feels awkward. He’s working the stage, but it feels more like someone’s uncle hijacked the band at a wedding. I just want it to end.”
