Directors Guild Awards 2018 winners: Best DGA prediction scores by our Editors and Users

Congratulations to our User Paul Rankin for a perfect score of 100% when predicting the 2018 Directors Guild Awards winners on Saturday. He is actually tied with 15 others with that percentage but has the better point score of 6,672 by using the 500 super bets wisely.

Over 1,300 people worldwide predicted these DGA winners in three film and four television categories. The awards ceremony was held on February 3 in Beverly Hills and were hosted by Judd Apatow. Our top scorer had the correct movie picks of Guillermo del Toro for “The Shape of Water” (feature film), Jordan Peele for “Get Out” (first-time feature film), and “City of Ghosts” (documentary feature) among his great selections.

You can see how your score compares to all others in our leaderboard rankings of all contestants, which also includes links to see each participant’s predictions. To see your own scores, go to the User menu in the top right corner of every page of Gold Derby when you’re signed in to the site. Use the drop down menu to go to “View Profile,” then look for the links to your “Award Show Scores.” Gold Derby must evaluate each potential winner’s eligibility as per our contest rules. If eligible, the first-place finisher gets a $100 Amazon gift card.

For the seven Gold Derby Editors participating, Daniel Montgomery and Tom O’Neil were among those 16 people with perfect predictions. Joyce Eng and Paul Sheehan are in the next spot with 85.71%. Marcus Dixon, Rob Licuria, and I are next with 71.43% See Editors’ leaderboard.
