Evanna Lynch (‘Dancing with the Stars’) FINALLY got the credit she deserves on Halloween Night [WATCH]

I think “Harry Potter” star Evanna Lynch is one of the strongest contestants this season on “Dancing with the Stars,” but I don’t think her scores have always reflected that. Just last week on Disney Night she thought she nailed her “Tangled” jazz routine, but felt dejected when it only received 8s from the judges. After that disappointment she decided to stop dancing for the approval of others, but ironically that’s what finally did the trick for her scores on Halloween Night.

The judges have been nitpicking Lynch’s performances since day one when she got a shockingly low 5 from Len Goodman. So for her Halloween tango, Lynch wanted to embody a cat, that aloof animal that never asks for anyone’s permission, and her newfound confidence agreed with her. She and her pro partner Keo Motsepe delivered a routine full of strong choreography that was also one of Lynch’s most technically accomplished performances.

This time Goodman thought Lynch was “crisp as a Pringle … You sold the whole dance.” Bruno Tonioli added, “She went from a tame pussycat to a wild panther.” And Carrie Ann Inaba exclaimed, “Evanna’s on fire! … You are so fierce tonight. This is you stepping up to the plate.” Not only did she advance beyond 8s, she got her first 10s of the season from Inaba and Tonioli. Goodman was still a grump and only gave her a 9, but that’s still a long way from the 5 he handed her on week one.

Those numbers placed her where I think she belongs, near the top of the leaderboard just one point shy of Milo Manheim and Juan Pablo Di Pace‘s perfect dances. And in a season where five female celebs in a row have been sent home, she has yet to even be in jeopardy. Will she achieve total perfection in the coming weeks? And will that make this black cat a dark horse for the Mirror Ball Trophy?
