Tom Bergeron (“Dancing with the Stars”) holds the record for the most Emmy nominations for Best Reality Host, with nine, but he might have some company soon. “Project Runway”’s Heidi Klum is expected to score her ninth nomination, per our combined odds.
Klum received three solo nominations from 2008-10. Since 2013, she and Tim Gunn have submitted themselves as a duo, resulting in a win that year, followed by four straight nominations.
The year before Klum and Gunn’s victory, Bergeron prevailed, ending Jeff Probst’s (“Survivor”) four-year run in the process. Bergeron bagged nine straight nominations until he was dropped from the field last year. He is currently in ninth place in our odds. Bergeron’s disappearance from the category coincided with “Dancing with the Stars” being dumped from Best Reality-Competition Program last year as well. On the other hand, “Project Runway” has been nominated every year since 2005.
Klum and Gunn are sitting in third place, behind two-time defending champ RuPaul Charles (“RuPaul’s Drag Race”) and 2015 winner Jane Lynch (“Hollywood Game Night”). W. Kamau Bell (“United Shades of America”), the “Queer Eye” Fab Five Antoni Porowski, Tan France, Karamo Brown, Bobby Berk and Jonathan Van Ness, and Alec Baldwin (“Match Game”) round out the predicted top six.
