Jennifer Hudson interview: ‘The Voice’ coach opens up about ‘first and only real job’ working at Burger King [WATCH]

Jennifer Hudson is a force to be reckoned with on “The Voice,” with two powerful artists — Kennedy Holmes and MaKenzie Thomas — still in the running to win the Season 15 championship. But did you know that before she became an international superstar, JHud worked at Burger King? As she reveals in NBC’s new digital video, “My first and only real job was working at Burger King. I used to sing in the drive thru window. That was my microphone.” Watch the full Jennifer Hudson interview above.

Even though Chicago is where Jennifer was born and raised, it’s still her favorite city to visit in the entire world. “Yes it’s my hometown but I don’t get there much,” she readily admits. “Home is a vacation!” When her fellow Chicago artist SandyRedd was eliminated during Top 13 week, Jennifer proudly told her, “I love how you’ve represented our city. I have to say, ‘Stand up Chicago.'”

The first concert JHud ever attended was her own concert following her success on “American Idol” Season 3 back in 2004. “That was always my promise to myself,” she declares. “I always saved that moment because I said I want my first concert to be my own. And it was.”

“My first car was a Riviera and it was like a ’96. I bought it at a car auction,” Jennifer says in the digital video. She then adds that “Jurassic World” is the last movie she saw and that her biggest pet peeve in life is “when people assume.” Finally, Jennifer confesses that while she’s a “night owl,” she also likes mornings, “So I stay up until the morning.”

Do you think Jennifer will end up as the winning coach for Season 15 of “The Voice”? As of this writing her artist Kennedy has leading 39/10 odds to claim victory, while MaKenzie is in fourth place with 11/2 odds. With only 10 artists left in the competition, it’s still anyone’s game.
