‘Kiss’ of death? Jurnee eliminated on ‘American Idol’ after Prince performance causes Katy Perry to say, ‘You look like a snack!’ [WATCH]

Sunday night during the Prince-themed Top 7 performance episode of “American Idol,” 18-year-old Jurnee sang “Kiss” for judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan. This Denver, Colorado resident also took on “Back At One” by Brian McKnight as her birth year song during Sunday’s two-hour episode. America ended up NOT being as impressed with Jurnee’s two performances as the judges were, so she was eliminated along with Catie Turner. Do you agree with America’s decision? Watch the “Kiss” video above and then read the “American Idol” judges’ comments below.

Katy Perry: “You look like a snack! I really, really appreciated that you were moving around for the second verse, because if it were Prince that microphone would be in the audience, he’d be dancing around, he’d probably be over here. So I liked seeing some of that. I want some more of it for the next song. More teeth.”

Lionel Richie: “You know what, Jurnee? I’m gonna say this to you. I’m actually having a flashback, because watching you sing I’m watching Sheila E over in the corner. As if there’s enough pressure in the room, Sheila was there through every part of Prince’s career. So I want to tell you, congratulations, you took care of business. I’m loving the fact that you’re doing the songs. Fantastic. Go for it.”

Luke Bryan: “Great song choice, though. Any time you can come out with a fun up-tempo to kick the show off, it gets people moving. Katy got Lionel to kiss her hand, so he’s got some kisses in. But good job, I had a great time watching you.”

In his “American Idol” live blog, our recapper Denton Davidson noted, “I love this song and Jurnee is looking FIERCE, but I feel like ever since she was almost sent home she’s had fear in her eyes. She needs to fearlessly BRING IT every time if she wants to win over the viewers. This was a solid performance, but she still looks on edge to me. I wish she would relax and understand what a natural stage presence she has.”
