Tuesday night on “The Voice,” country singer Kaleb Lee from Team Kelly Clarkson was eliminated after being forced to sing for America’s instant save along with Britton Buchanan and Pryor Baird. Kaleb picked Lynyrd Skynyrd‘s “Simple Man” as his instant save song, but it didn’t connect with America as much as Britton’s performance, so the Ormond Beach, Florida resident was sent home just one week before “The Voice” Season 14 finale. Watch Kaleb’s final “The Voice” performance video above.
“Kaleb, I’m so excited for you right now,” Kelly smiled ear to ear after Kaleb’s performance of “Simple Man.” “I’m not nervous because I know that America has seen what I said in the video package yesterday. You have grown so much. You are the one that literally went from just working a normal job, coming in here, hadn’t done music in forever. People are excited. I’ve seen iTunes. People are backing you. Y’all, you’ve gotta vote for Kaleb!
Kaleb’s other performances on “The Voice” so far have included “Never Wanted Nothing More,” “Don’t Do Me Like That,” “Free,” “You Don’t Even Know Who I Am,” “Die a Happy Man,” “Amazed,” “T-R-O-U-B-L-E,” “Boondocks” and “It Is Well with My Soul.” How does “Simple Man” stack up to Kaleb’s former songs? Let us know down in the comments section.
In his recap of “The Voice,” our live-blogger Denton Davidson declared, “This is a great song choice that likely has more appeal than what Pryor just did. He looks relaxed on stage and sounds great in this high-pressure situation. He definitely held his own against Pryor’s performance.”
