Kennedy Holmes earns raves from ‘The Voice’ coaches after ‘Me Too’ performance: ‘You never disappoint,’ says JHud [WATCH]

Monday, December 3 on “The Voice,” Kennedy Holmes took on “Me Too” for Team Jennifer Hudson during the Top 10 performance episode. After weeks of ballads, this was Kennedy’s first time singing an uptempo pop song. Do you think this performance was good enough for Kennedy to advance to next week’s Top 8 show for Team JHud? Watch “The Voice” live performance above and read the coaches’ comments below.

Kelly Clarkson: “Kennedy, I was so happy seeing this because I love that you can sing a ballad. I love that you can nail a song like a professional. But you’re 13, man. It is awesome to see you doing stuff your age, like doing stuff that’s fun as well. I think this was a really smart move for you both to do. The moon walk? Come on. That was so good.”

Adam Levine: “If that was being 13 then I sucked at being 13. I don’t know what that’s all about. That’s crazy. You can dance. You can move. That to me is another strength that really we didn’t know much about until this moment. Your time is pretty good, kid. You’re doing really well.”

Jennifer Hudson: “You are just — you never disappoint. You are everything. That was so fun to watch. I feel like Adam over there, cause I’m sitting here like, dang, why didn’t I get my best moves when I was 13? Do you understand the moves I could bust if I started at 13? I just went down memory lane, I’m sorry. I don’t even know what to say to you. I’m just so proud of you. I enjoyed watching every single thing you just did on that stage. You’re ready for the game, I don’t care if you’re 12 or 13.”

Prior to this performance of “Me Too,” Kennedy sang “Turning Tables” during the blind auditions, “Battlefield” during the battles, “What About Us” during the knockouts, “Halo” during Top 26 week, “Wind Beneath My Wings” during Top 13 week, and “Greatest Love of All” during Top 11 week.

In his “The Voice” live blog, our recapper Denton Davidson had this to say about the live performance: “Backed by a team of dancers, Kennedy proves she is a natural entertainer as she works the stage while holding the vocals together. This had the potential to be a complete disaster but I think Kennedy absolutely nailed it! That dance number she did at the end? – okay lil’ Janet! This girl is a star! She brought all the coaches to their feet and the audience is fired up.”
