A tearful Keshia Knight Pulliam exited the “Celebrity Big Brother” house on Monday, February 12, becoming the second evicted houseguest of the season. Prior to the live vote, the former “Cosby Show” star pleaded with her fellow houseguests to show compassion and evict her so she could go home and be with her one-year-old daughter. While in the house, Keshia’s breast milk, the main nutrition source of her daughter, began to deplete. Read our recap of the live eviction episode.
When host Julie Chen asked about her decision, Keshia responded, “I’m a very competitive person and I definitely came into this game to play. But at this point I’m [my daughter’s] main source of nutrients and as my supply started to diminish I knew that I had to make a decision. $250,000 isn’t worth more than the health of my child.” Keshia said she respects any parent that plays this game, and stated “It’s been really challenging and my heart goes out to the parents in the house. I have to both be there for [my daughter] but also be a provider. You have to work and that’s what I’m doing here.”
How does Keshia really feel about controversial houseguest Omarosa? “I was really surprised. I’m grateful I went in with the spirit of allowing people to show me who they are and allowing her to show me her heart. It is very important for little girls out there to see that example. As another black woman, I wasn’t going to tear her down.”
During her pre-eviction speech, Keshia told James Maslow that when she nominated him last week she was only doing Shannon Elizabeth’s dirty work. Did she throw her under the bus? “I hope so. I’ve been very honest and upfront with my whole game. There are a lot of things that she was in the center of and i feel like she caused a lot of divide. I don’t have anything to lose, you can trust what I’m saying.” When asked about her experience in the house, Keshia’s final thoughts were, “Wow! That was the most unique experience I’ve ever had in my life.”
