Leslie Jones (‘Saturday Night Live’) Emmy episode revealed for Best Comedy Supporting Actress (Exclusive)

Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Leslie Jones is entering the “Saturday Night Live” episode hosted by Donald Glover as her Emmy submission for Best Comedy Supporting Actress. This installment aired May 5 and was the 19th episode of the 43rd season for the NBC show.

In this show, Jones appears in “Weekend Update” singing to the tune “Angel” about all the bad men she has dated, the cold open as Omarosa, and in a sketch about a “Star Wars” gathering hosted by Lando Calrissian (Glover).

Jones received her first nomination in this category last year but was defeated by “SNL” co-star Kate McKinnon. Both ladies return for the 2018 ceremony, and are up against another co-star, Aidy Bryant, previous winners Laurie Metcalf (“Roseanne”) and Megan Mullally (“Will and Grace”), past nominee Alex Borstein (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”), plus first-time contenders Zazie Beetz (“Atlanta”) and Betty Gilpin (“GLOW”).
